Catholic social teaching is concerned with building a just society and pursuing a life of holiness amidst the challenges of modern society. (USCCB on Catholic Social Teaching)
Students and community members are invited to take advantage of the opportunities at the Newman Center to participate in social justice formation and activities. Several times throughout the year, we undertake community service projects such as collecting canned foods, winter clothing drives, feeding those in need and working on home/facility repairs for the needy.
Now until December 5th:
Mobile Coat Drive
The Newman Center has teamed up with community partners Short Term Emergency Aid Committee to host a mobile coat drive for the 2016 fall and winter season. You may drop off your donation in a box located at the Newman Center any day before December 5th.
