SERVICE AND SOCIAL JUSTICE
Catholic social teaching is concerned with building a just society and pursuing a life of holiness amidst the challenges of modern society. (USCCB on Catholic Social Teaching)
Students and community members are invited to take advantage of the opportunities at the Newman Center to participate in social justice formation and activities. Several times throughout the year, we undertake community service projects such as collecting canned foods, winter clothing drives, feeding those in need and working on home/facility repairs for the needy.
Catholic Relief Services (CRS)
We are also blessed to be part of the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Campus Advocate program. We have a variety of activities including World AIDS Day, Rice Bowl, Catholics Confronting Hunger and more.
